Why Landing Pages are Critial for successful Online Marketing

Landing pages are a fundamental part of any online marketing strategy. But before we talk about landing pages, it is important to remember that the two factors critical to any successful online marketing campaign is the traffic (the number of people who visit your site) and conversions (the number of people who work when coming to the site).

WEBSITES ...

When most companies start building a website, automatically with the standard design, ie, the home page, about us page, product pages and contact us pages. In cases where this type of site is important in any online strategy, should only make up a part of an overall strategy to web design.

TRAFFIC ...

One of the best ways to drive traffic to a website is with Pay Per Click Advertising, where you bid on specific keywords and direct where visitors go on your site. Therein lies the problem ...

Let's say you're a hardware store online that sells a range of different products, including hammers, saws, power tools and axes ... and you have a website where people can buy. You pay only for targeted keywords such as 'buy-hammer' and 'buying power tools' and send all traffic to the home page of your website.

If the person who typed in 'hammer buy' does not see a hammer on the first page you are redirected to after clicking on an ad, there is a much lower probability that converts to a sale. However, if you click on the ad and are taken to a page where you can buy a hammer, there will be a much higher chance of them buying the hammer ... leading to higher conversions and lower cost per acquisition of new customers.

Landing Pages ...

This is where landing pages can be very effective. Unlike a website, a landing page is a single page dedicated to a single product or service, providing the visitor everything they need to know to make a decision to buy the product immediately.

An example of a landing page can be found at Online Marketing Report. Here is a page where the only action the company wants the visitor to take is to order the report.

When the keywords targeted traffic directed to the targeted landing pages higher conversions occur because the visitor is seeing exactly what they are looking at Google

For example, if the hardware store has been a landing page for a hammer and bid for 'hammer buy' the keyword in Google and Yahoo, the person who clicked on Pay Per Click to would see exactly what they were looking for and more more people would buy accordingly.

For many companies, with landing pages for each of the main products is essential to maximize advertising budgets and sales.

And when the landing pages are coupled with testing and monitoring, maximum profits are achieved .......
