Presenting the Business Plan - Why do people feel nervous and what you can do about it
If you are looking for funding to start or expand an existing business is you must accept that if you want the bank to say yes to your great business idea, you're going to spend time preparing for the interview.
The chat with the manager is your only chance to really sell yourself and your idea. It 's rare that you get a second chance with the operator or bank. So do not deny yourself the opportunity.
But many people have a problem to appear in front of strangers!
So let's consider why people find the idea of selling themselves and their activities is a daunting task.
Lack of confidence
Some people just do not feel confident when speaking in a public situation. We can not consider communicating on a one-to-one, in public speaking, but it is. Outside of his own "self-talk" (conversations you have with yourself in your mind) and inside your home, all conversations are essentially public discourse.
Lack of preparation
If you have not prepared properly, then this will show through in any stressful situation. The lack of preparation includes not knowing the ins-and-outs of your business idea or business plan and do not anticipate the kinds of questions you will be asked during the interview. It 'going to be compared in a test and knowing the end did not put the effort in - you remember that feeling?
Poor communication skills
Some people think that they will never communicate their ideas clearly and consistently, their thoughts are confused and are not in any way, the words and the explanation of concepts out into a mess. Consequently, their body language and voice begins to reflect the discomfort, the anxiety that leads to more mental. And so the cycle continues always down!
Auto bad image
Some business people do not see the interview as a meeting of equals in which both sides want a positive result. They see the manager as a kind of ogre, someone who has made it possible to half, eats them and throw them away, only for his own evil pleasure! This enduring image remains with them until the beginning of the interview, which dominates their thoughts and making the whole process a complete disaster!
Lack of concentration and planning
The day of the interview, some people try to make a thousand-and-one else before we go together to the Bank. What happens? They get stressed out because something has not gone to plan - the man who had come to repair the washing machine does not get up until one hour after the appointed time, they forgot that the car would need fuel to the way and so This added 10 minutes to travel time, a friend shows up at home and have the courage to tell her to go, so an hour later she's still there!
By the time you get to the bank, their heart beats faster than a marathon runner and their mind is a complete blank! Do not see the day as having a job, than to see the bank manager, and so the day is not properly planned.
All these unexpected deviations and disappointments can take your mind off mentally preparing for the important task ahead.
Not any of these situations sound familiar? What you can do to put yourself in a better frame of mind?
Here are 3 tips from my 9-Step Plan Interview Preparation
Have faith in your future success
Before anyone else can believe in you, you have to believe in yourself. You must absolutely have no doubt in your mind that you will succeed in creating your business or moving your current business forward. This is not what you believe you are now, but what do you think might be in the future. It may have little in terms of money or goods, but now you have to believe that in future you'll have all these things (if so you define your idea of success).
You must be 100% sure that you are going to be one of the few people who make a success of their lives. You must demonstrate an "I-will-get-to-the-top" attitude. If you do not believe you can climb to the top of the mountain, then it is of course not! People, and this includes your bank manager, follow the person who believes what he is saying.
Know Your Business Inside Out Plan
If you have properly organized, the Manager will have spent time going through the Business Plan before the interview. After reviewing the Plan which will probably have a list of questions to clarify areas that is unsafe, or questions just to invite her to give him a better understanding of some parts of your business.
To address these questions with confidence and competence you need to know your plan inside and out. Given the time constraints people are under these days, it is possible that the operator may have touched through the Plan (what! After all your work? After all those hours? Yes, it is a fact I'm afraid!). The answers to his questions, of course, can be effectively contained in the Plan. If this happens, stay calm and answer with an "attitude". Use this as an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of your plan. Think about how you look professional and organized when you tell him to go to page 10 and he'll find the answer to your question right there! If nothing else, make you feel humble!
Know the Plan means that at least during the interview you're not going to contradict what has been included in it. You have to be consistent. If you say something that does not coincide with what you said on paper, what do you think that going through the mind of the manager? "This person knows what he's doing? They obviously do not have a clear direction or focus for the company, if they keep changing their minds."
Know the Plan will prove that you are meticulous, organized and consistent, the type of person you really like a banker!
Put yourself in the shoes of the manager
An effective way to prepare for the interview is to imagine you as the manager. Imagine seeing you and your plan for the first time, pretending not to know absolutely nothing about you or your business. What would you ask? What about it? What is the probability of mistaking an "outsider" on your business? What questions do I ask you to get a better understanding? What tough questions would you ask?
You must enter his mind in order to prepare well-researched and well presented answers to questions likely. And 'everything goes back to training, presentation, demonstrating that you know your business and that you are worthy of support. She did not give this impression, if you do not have time to think of possible questions that could be asked and prepare answers in advance.
Banker favorite questions are "What if ......" ones:
* "And if your provider is cheating on you?"
* "And if the price of your raw materials increased by 10%?"
* "What happens if you lose your number one client?"
* "What happens if one of your critical employees leave?"
Set bit 'of time from when you prepare for the interview to think like a banker. What do you know if you were in his chair? The list of questions could be endless and there is no way you can prevent all of them, but at least you will be prepared for most of them.
These are only 3 steps to do to prepare for your interview.
